Across NG Bailey, safety, health, environment and quality control (SHEQ) are managed together. We have developed group-wide systems to manage and reduce risk, and these are core to our success.
Our strategy in all these areas is to maintain our own inhouse capability in SHEQ management, rather than outsourcing it to external providers. This gives us greater control and in-house expertise. The effectiveness of this strategy was demonstrated in 2008 as we rapidly achieved ISO18001 and 14001 registration for s2s, a recently acquired business.
We analyse all accidents and incidents including those of our subcontract workers. By reviewing this data we identify trends and act upon areas for improvement ensuring the safest possible environment for our workforce.
