The brief
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) required a Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Planned Preventative Maintenance solution. The contract would cover 32 of their municipal buildings, including, but not limited to, Elderly Persons Care Homes, day care centres and Family Centres.
The council took the decision to outsource this contract in an attempt to find a contractor who could satisfy their diverse needs and requirements. Due to the sensitive nature of some of the sites it was imperative that the contractor could provide a consistent approach and preferably use a dedicated base of engineers to deliver all of the works.
The solution
Bailey Maintenance considered the clients requirements for both planned and reactive work and resolved that the best service solution would be in a mixture of resident and mobile engineers. The contract engineer works solely on the RBKC portfolio and the mobile engineers consist of a dedicated team who are made fully aware of all the requirements and details of this contract. In order to achieve the two-hour response time that is set by the client we have introduced two-wheeled transport to our engineering team. In addition to the original brief we have worked with the RBKC to introduce and develop various energy efficiency plans.

The result
"Bailey Maintenance has shown great flexibility in responding to our needs. They have put in place a contract structure that maximises their ability to provide an excellent all-round service."
Gary McDonnell, Estates Manager,
Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
