The brief
To provide boiler preventative planned maintenance and repair to all Cheltenham Borough Council non-domestic properties. Previously the client had received a poor service in response to call- outs, execution of planned maintenance and any requests for extra/new works. Due to the poor service levels the client found that when an engineer did attend site there was little understanding of their requirements, sites or equipment. Consequently the client brief reflected many of these experiences.
The solution
Bailey Maintenance allocated an engineer to the contract, ensuring that there is a regular contact that is aware of the sites and the client contact at site. A specific team of mobile support engineers were given site inductions and introduced to key people within the council during the mobilisation period. In addition to the initial brief we have assisted the client with an Energy Management plan and completed a Forward Maintenance Register highlighting life cycles of plant and equipment replacement costs.
The result
As a result of the site inductions, when the contract went live, if a mobile engineer was required at site, e.g. during emergency call out, they had an awareness of the contract details, sites and contacts. The Energy Management Plan and Forward maintenance Register have allowed the client to manage, plan and prioritise future capital expenditure, as well as reducing costs in energy waste. The contract manager ensures the high quality service, that the client has come to expect, is maintained and monthly meetings allow for any issues to be quickly resolved.
