NG Bailey's efforts to reduce its own energy requirements
Energy
Our head office and training centre is at Denton Hall, an 18th century grade one listed building. Although challenging, we have still managed to reduce our energy consumption at the hall by 19%.
We've removed unnecessary waste and now use solar thermal technology to provide our domestic hot water. A building control system keeps each of the rooms at optimum temperature efficiently.
Throughout our largest properties we have installed automated metering and targeting systems to monitor electricity and gas usage. This data lets us audit and further reduce our energy consumption.
Our Theale office in Reading and our forthcoming Strathclyde office will have 'Very Good' and 'Excellent' BREEAM ratings. They use sun pipes, solar thermal and building management systems to reduce energy consumption, costs and carbon emissions.
